App is useless After launch it makes my phone 6 freeze and get super hot. How can I get my money back?

So far the best

The best professional app of the store. Nothing more, nothing comparable

My new favorite

As a B&W photographer who has issues with viewing on a flat screen in color, I was elated when I found I could set this app to view in grayscale yet save to a dRAW TIFF for converting to B&W later. Not to mention the spot meter etc. Great.

Photographers must have

Very awesome app that only a true photographer would love. You can choose film type and even customize to make your own. You can also use lens filters during the shot. If you are a BW photographer then this is huge for you. Love that I can shoot jpg and raw at the same time. I always find myself leaving the big camera home only to find a perfect shot that Im desperately trying to take with my phone. This app makes those shots almost possible because of the control I get. Any shots i take with this app will be edited on my Mac using photoshop so raw files appeal to me. Just a couple of things that are lacking, unless I missed it: I BIG one is the lack of aperture priority mode, which is mostly the reason why I bought this app. Is this a limitation of apples camera usage? I really want to heart this app so much but no aperture priority mode means no love. Wish the film adjustment ranges can have wider values and to have more options to tweak. I would also love an Acros film type. Using the dial could be much better. Just Keep it like any any iOS button where you just move your finger left to right to turn the dial. Id rather not have to switch to the mode where you choose from the screen.

Gets HOT

A great camera app and ability to save to TIFF, but after I take a couple pictures the phone gets extremely hot. Almost too hot to touch. Once that happens it starts to hang. Thats the only reason it gets four stars, so if that bug can get worked out, its nearly perfect.

Battery drains and gets very warm

Very nice photo app. However my phone gets very warm and it drains the battery very quickly. I hope these issues can be addressed because this has the potential to be a superb photo app.

Great but

This is certainly a must have app for anyone serious about wanting great pictures from their iPhone, but the latest version is buggy and hangs up soon after opening.

Great photos, but HOT!

I love the photos this app helps me take, but using it for just a few minutes drains the battery and makes the phone super hot. Please fix this! Would give five stars if this can be resolved.

Ive always loved this camera but...

Ive been using this camera app since the first version came out. Im a former DSLR shooter so all of these features are very familiar and give me all the control I could ever wish for from my phone. I like the new interface--its easier to use. Heres the but...since the beginning this app has always heated up my phone to the point where Id quit using it for fear of ruining the whole instrument. I believe around the first or second version the developer tried to address this issue with some success but each time a new version comes out were back to the heat-up problem. The second thing is--from its inception the app has been an incredible battery drainer. I cant use most of the advanced display options, etc because Id only be able to shoot one or two photos before my battery was drained. As it is now, in this latest version, with most of the screen function turned off I can only get about 8-10 shots before my battery is shot. My husband is a software engineering manager and he thinks there is a memory leak in the system. There is now a third and very annoying problem with the current version. Sometimes it just will not take a photo. Try as I might to re-adjust the focus, exposure, etc the fire button just will not work! I cant tell you how many times Ive had to switch to another camera app to get my shot. Between this problem and the battery drain I really have to think carefully about whether or not to try to use this camera for my shot even though I know it has just what I want to take the shot. If I were the developer I would concentrate all of my energies on fixing these bugs before I tried to add or change any other features. While it nice that all of those meters and what not are available, the truth is you cannot use them if you expect to take more than a very few shots before your battery is mort. For information I am using an IPhone 5s, 64 GB of which 15gb are available and I am running version 8.1.3 of the IOS.

Longer shutters?

App is working great. The shutter on my iPhone 5 can be set to a full second and only half a second on my iPhone 6+. Is it possible to bring that one second length shutter, or even longer speeds, in future updates?

Barley useful due to bugs.

What to say... 1. The GUI locks up after only a minute or two, so its unreliable most of the time. Cant shoot, press buttons or anything. Just have to restart the app mostly. 2. When tapping to focus, I dont see any feedback, so have no idea of it is focusing. Why not just do it the way the default camera does? If it aint broke etc... As far as the functionality of the GUI goes, its not really optimal. Its cute to make the UI mimic SLR controls, but not at the expense of efficiency. Id rather the UI have buttons to change its modes if operation than a fake jog dial, personally speaking. All I care about is that I can utilize SS, ISO and Aperture. And that it bypasses the firmware processing and compression. Unfortunately, there is no way to adjust the aperture. Why is that? Limitation of the API? Im sorry to have wasted my money at this point, but will remain hopeful that one day the dev will redeem it.

Has potential to be the champion, has a long way to go

The idea behind this app is beautiful: a high-quality raw-like image direct from the iPhones sensor. When the app works, I get beautiful neutral images that are perfect for editing in Snapseed, Photoshop, or VSCOcam. I have frequent issues, however, where images are never saved, or take a minute or more to save from the RAM buffer (sometimes I take 5 photos and 4 make it to my photo roll... where did that other one go?). This is not a camera app for once-in-a-lifetime moments. Its too unstable for that; its what I use for shots where I have a few minutes to make sure that the camera app saved the file, and can re-shoot if need be. Maybe 20-30% of all photos I take with this app just disappear, never making it to my camera roll. Those that do arrive in my camera roll sometimes get there instantly, but more often they take between 30 seconds and 10 minutes to show up. The in-camera filtering and editing options arent something I use. I wish that the dial on screen could be used to dial exposure up and down, or rack focus back and forth, so I dont need to rely on the touch-focus as touch-exposure functions of the app that dont really seem to work. They probably work if you know their quirks, but its not intuitive and not explained in the manual. Other apps like Smugmugs Camera Awesome app have excellent, pinpoint-accuracy focusing and split-exposure/focus functionality that are easy to use and dont have a learning curve. Id like to see this app improve in that area. I love that we can get super-HQ files out of this app, and that there are several quality-level options to choose from. This really does have potential to be the one-and-only camera app. But for now its just a quirky experiment.

Great app for a great camera

This app really makes me want to leave my Nikon DSLR home. Not because it’s better, but because it’s always with me and the manual and auto adjustments are fantastic! A great buy.

Used to be great

It no longer works with the iPhone 6. Ill open it but the screen will be black, then I tried to switch modes of shooting, but it crashed immediately....

Might be Great if didnt lock up!!!

Bought this for my iPhone 6 running iOS 8.3...looks like it woulg be a great camera app if it didnt lock up after a few minutes and my phone got VERY HOT. Wont try to use this again till an app update gets posted with a fix for the HOT phone issue...

Good but go with ProCam instead

This is a good camera app and if you really wanted to learn manual shooting, this would be the way to go. It takes great pictures--you get higher quality than with the default Apple camera, because it gives you the option to skip all the JPEG compression and because you have full control of the exposure. It give you the option to save pics to the camera roll or somewhere else. Etc. This is a very good app, but when it comes down to it, I use ProCam because it gives you faster and more intuitive controls + gives you same level of control and picture quality. The most awkward control was the dial (mimics the on on a real camera--shutter priority, aperture priority, play, etc). It resets itself, so I used it a lot and its really really awkward. Give us a slider or something instead of a dial--what works for your thumb on a camera doesnt work on a phone. Really what would be great as an option is the tap to focus where you can control exposure and focus separately (like ProCam). They also give you sliders for more direct manual control. The other problem with the app is that it doesnt shoot video--you need a separate app for that (unlike ProCam).

Love this Camera, but...

Please fix this new issue that has just came up in the newest update. When I hit home and put my phone to sleep in between shooting... The app will freeze every time. I then have to kill the app from the multitasker and relaunch to get it to work. You can see how this could be inconvenient... Perfect shots are missed when timing is off. Other than that... Thanks for a great camera with more control than I would expect from a phone camera! Im running iPhone 6 plus on 8.3.

Overheating Iphone

when using high quality images, iPhone 6 overheats. tiff and high quality JPEGs are not worth a non working phone. please fix

Loved the app but its still not working on my iPod Touch

I had hoped that the update would make it possible for me to use this on my iPod Rouch but still no luck.Still it doesnt work at all on my Touch. They were very, very, very nice at the company, but the only work around was to reset the iPod. I did it three times and still no luck. I am hoping that the next version will fix it.

645 Pro is just like being home

For anyone growing up with film like I did, this App will be a welcome change. You probably wont need the manual but if you did, its well written and a sign of commitment from its creator. If you want the most out of your iPhone camera I think you will be pleased with this app.
